Tim Roberson

Tim Roberson is an environmental and energy economist who earned his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Arizona in 2020. Before coming to Tech, he worked for the Baker School of Public Policy at UT Knoxville under a grant from the Tennessee Valley Authority, and as an Economist for the New England Independent System Operator. He has worked in both academia and industry, applying empirical and market-design tools to real-world challenges. His research explores strategic competition, electricity market design, renewable energy adoption, and policy mechanisms for managing emergent technologies and transitions in energy systems.
