ABOUT

  • B.S. in Mathematics, University of Sri Jayewardenepura (Sri Lanka, 2009)
  • M.S. in Mathematics, Tennessee Tech University (2013)
  • Ph.D. in Mathematics, University of Kentucky (2020)

I joined as an assistant professor in the Department of Mathematics at Tennessee Tech University in 2022.  My research interests lie in Machine learning/Deep learning applications focusing on Recurrent Neural Networks (RNN) and other networks. I was focusing on hyperparameter optimization in machine learning/deep learning for computer vision applications, during my postdoctoral research at the University of Notre Dame. I completed my Ph.D. at the University of Kentucky in 2020, with a focus on understanding and exploiting unitary and symmetric structures in deep neural networks. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family.
