Nicole Cook-Seabold joined Tennessee Tech in the Fall of 2018. Her previous research examines prison adjustment for women serving life sentences, pathways to prison for women, and the impact of trauma on re-entry. Related to her research interests, some of her favorite classes to teach are Women & Crime, Patterns of Domestic Violence and Sexual Offenses & Offenders.
Before teaching, Mrs. Cook-Seabold worked as a felony probation officer during which time she partnered with individuals being released after a period of incarceration. In collaborating with her clients, she was able to aid in finding employment, housing, and programming to benefit them in establishing a stable living environment for themselves and their families post-incarceration.
Mrs. Cook-Seabold is currently the Faculty Advisor for the Sociology & Criminal Justice
Club- a club which is geared toward students who are interested in these fields of
study, Alpha Kappa Delta- and international sociology honors society, and the Peer
Empowerment Program- a student group focused on educating the campus community about
power-based violence, including dating violence, campus sexual assault and stalking
while supporting survivors and allies.
