Eric L. Brown has spent over years in the information technology (IT) industry working in corporate, small business, state government, K12 and higher education environments. He holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Computer Science from Tennessee Tech. Eric served as the Information and Instructional Technology Specialist for the Computer Science Department and taught IT classes for 19 years including introductory programming, Linux scripting, systems programming (cross platform focus), and Information Storage/Lifecycle Management. 

As part of his work in state government (Tennessee Department of Education, TDOE), Eric was responsible for consultation with 147 school districts within the State of Tennessee regarding IT implementation and security. These security reviews included compliance with CIPA requirements for the E-rate program as legislated by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and administrated by Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC). He was also responsible for information security training for TDOE.

Since March 2016, Eric has served as the Assistant Director for the Cybersecurity Education, Research & Outreach Center at Tennessee Tech University supporting the center's initiatives lead by Dr. Ambareen Siraj. Eric works closely with the cybersecurity risk assessment student teams as part of the center's partnership with Tennessee Tech's 3-Star IAC.
