Dr. Daniel Yoon joined Tennessee Tech University in Fall 2023. Prior to that, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Nevada at Reno. He received a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Hanyang University, South Korea, in 2006, and a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign in 2019. He was a Simulation and Test Engineer at Hyundai Motor Company from 2006 to 2013. Dr. Yoon’s current research interests include estimation, decision-making, and cyberphysical systems (CPS). He is particularly interested in decision-making under uncertainties to consider the trade-off between exploration and exploitation.
