Jonathan Frank

As a proud two-time Tennessee Tech graduate, Jonathan is honored to serve his alma mater as Director of News and Public Relations, where he leads a talented team of writers and public relations professionals who help share Tech’s story with a broad audience.

Prior to his service at Tech, Jonathan spent a decade in Washington, D.C., where he served as communications director to a U.S. Representative and worked for the House Budget Committee. He also held roles as vice president of communications at the nonprofit Better Medicare Alliance and as communications director for a healthcare-focused government affairs firm.

Today in his role for Tech, Jonathan is responsible for writing compelling news releases and feature stories, pitching university personnel for news coverage and liaising with local, regional and national media on behalf of the university. He also co-hosts the university’s weekly “College Town Talk” podcast, which is available across all podcast platforms and airs locally on Newstalk 94.1 FM each Sunday at 2 p.m. CT.

Outside of his primary job duties, Jonathan is an adjunct instructor in the university’s academic Department of Communication & Media and volunteers as a member of the Bryan Symphony Orchestra’s Board of Directors. He recently concluded a term on the Tennessee Tech Alumni Association Board of Directors.

Jonathan holds a Bachelor of Science in political science and a Master of Professional Studies with a concentration in media and strategic communication, both from Tennessee Tech.
