Bio
Sara serves the College of Business as its Director of Development focused on major gift fundraising and capital project fundraising. She has spent her entire career in the non-profit world serving religious, secular, and academic organizations.
After graduating from Tennessee Tech, she moved back to East Tennessee where she worked in youth and young adult ministry. She served on local, state, national, and international ministry teams focused on developing and implementing programming for youth from a wide variety of backgrounds. She also worked as a consultant to ministry groups and organizations focused on growing their engagement and developing effective fundraising strategies.
Stepping into the secular non-profit realm she served as the Founder and Executive Director of a non-profit legal service which is still operational today and making a huge impact in the Appalachian region. At the time of its founding, it was one of only 4 organizations in the country providing this type of low-cost legal service and one of a very few offering a comprehensive model designed to assist individuals and families both in and out of the courtroom.
Now, back at her Alma Mater, Sara is focused on major gift fundraising for the College of Business. She works with alumni and friends of the University to establish scholarships, fund programs, and improve campus infrastructure.
In her spare time, she can be found hanging out with her husband and two boys or chasing Everett the Labradoodle and Lottie the Schnoodle. She loves traveling with her family and telling stories no one has time for. She is a Red Sox super fan, landscaping novice, and flavored coffee connoisseur.
