Tennessee Tech University’s College of Graduate Studies has been named among the top
250 graduate schools in the nation according to Abound, a college guidance system
for degree-seeking adults.
Abound’s 2024 rankings also named Tech among the top graduate schools in Tennessee
and the top public graduate schools in the nation. The recognition comes as Tech is
waiving graduate school application fees for domestic students throughout the month
of May and as the state recently expanded the HOPE lottery scholarship to include eligibility for the first year of graduate
studies.
Tech offers more than 60 graduate programs and concentrations, including recent additions
such as its online Master of Arts in Learning, Design and Technology and plans for
a new Master of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering beginning in spring
2025, pending Tennessee Higher Education Commission approval.
“We’re honored to celebrate Tennessee Tech University’s unparalleled graduate-level
programming,” said Tyson Schritter, chief operating officer at Abound. “Tennessee
Tech masterfully merges knowledge and skill to graduate talented professionals who
can help close today’s ever-growing skills gap.”
“The typical rankings of colleges and universities tend to vet schools without nuance,
paying attention only to numbers and enrollment data. We at Abound assess grad schools,
one by one, to be sure that they offer a valuable graduate student experience,” added
Schritter. “It’s inspiring to see Tennessee Tech University caring for each individual
student, preparing them to achieve their goals and make a positive impact on their
lives and their communities.”
Julie Baker, interim associate provost and dean of the College of Graduate Studies
at Tech, said the rankings are a testament to the quality of the Tech’s graduate-level
faculty and students.
“Tennessee Tech is making a postgraduate education affordable and achievable for more
students of all ages in Tennessee and beyond,” said Baker. “A graduate degree from
our university equips students with practical tools to advance their careers from
world-class faculty who are committed to their success. With expanded HOPE scholarship
opportunities and waived application costs for domestic students during the month
of May, the decision to apply has never been easier.”
