Agribusiness Economics Club

The Tennessee Tech Agribusiness Club is an organization dedicated to serving students who are preparing for careers in the agribusiness field. We meet on the second Thursday of the month during dead hour. Our meetings feature discussing current issues in agriculture, guest speakers from the industry, as well as student presentations about related experiences and some food. We also try to tour both in-state and out-of-state agricultural industries every year. We welcome all agriculture students and business college students to join. There is a small membership fee. We meet on the second Thursday of every month at 11:00.

Agricultural Council

The purpose of the Agricultural Council is to promote and advance the academic programs within the School of Agriculture and to work with all organizations within the School of Agriculture to promote activities involving all majors. 

The membership of the Agricultural Council is made up of an elected representative from each of the other School of Agriculture clubs and organizations, the editor of the "Aggie Contact," and the Student Government Association Agriculture senator. We meet on the 4th Thursday of every month at 11:00.

Agricultural Engineering Technology Club

The objectives of the Agricultural Engineering Technology Club are to acquaint students with the opportunities in AGET, to acquaint industry and the general public with AGET, to develop potential leadership, to create a spirit of fellowship among members, and to foster the development of professional and intellectual improvement. Membership is open to all students in the School of Agriculture. Meetings take place on the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 11:00.

Alpha Gamma Sigma

Alpha Gamma Sigma is an agriculture-based fraternity that promotes fellowship and attempts to inspire the professionalism of all agricultural students. The chapter was established at Tennessee Tech University in May 1961 under the leadership of Dr. E.B. Knight, Agricultural Economics professor. Alpha Gamma Sigma promotes 13 character building principles that members are expected to practice in order to achieve a satisfying academic and social life during their stay at Tennessee Tech. These principles prepare the brothers for a rewarding and productive future in Agriculture.

Block and Bridle Club

The Tennessee Tech Chapter of the Block and Bridle Club was chartered in 1947 and is affiliated with the national Block and Bridle Club. The club provides students opportunity to develop leadership skills and supports service and educational activities related to the livestock industry.

Students having interests in livestock are eligible for membership. The club sponsors an annual membership drive, steak dinner and auction, and participates in regional and local livestock clinics, judging contests, sales and other local events occurring at Tennessee Tech facilities. We meet the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 11:00.

Collegiate FFA Chapter

The Collegiate FFA is a nationally affiliated organization designed to develop competent, aggressive agricultural leaders. Activities familiarize club members and prospective teachers of agriculture with the duties of an FFA chapter advisor by hosting many district, regional and FFA Career Development Events; by attending the State and National FFA Conventions; and by participating in State Collegiate Contests. We meet on the 1st Tuesday of every month at 11:00

Collegiate 4-H Club

The purpose of the Tennessee Tech Collegiate 4-H Club is to promote, support and assist 4-H Club activities in Tennessee. Members assist the local Tennessee Agricultural Extension Service in conducting judging contests and leadership activities. The membership of the Tennessee Tech Collegiate 4-H consists of 4-H Alumni who are enrolled in Tennessee Tech University. We meet on the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 11:00.

Delta Tau Alpha

Delta Tau Alpha is a national honor society organized for students and professionals in Agriculture. The purposes of the society are to recognize high standards of scholarship, to encourage and foster high ethical standards, and to promote the profession of Agriculture. Members are chosen based upon scholastic achievement, personal character and leadership qualities.  We meet on the 4th Tuesday of every month at 11:00.

Environmental Conservation Club

Tennessee Tech's Environmental Conservation Club, a student chapter of the American Society of Agronomy and the Soil and Water Conservation Society, supports the participation of Tech's Soil Judging Team in ASA - and NACTA - sponsored soil judging contest. Tennessee Tech was the host of the first National Collegiate Soil Judging Contest and hosted the ASA Southeast Regional Contest in Fall 2000.

Gamma Zeta Chapter of Sigma Alpha

Sorority Description: Sigma Alpha is a professional agricultural sorority that promotes scholarship, leadership, service and fellowship among its members. The sorority was founded in 1978 at the Ohio State University by five women who wanted an alternative to the social Greek sorority system. Since that time, Sigma Alpha has become a national organization consisting of more than 80 chapters, comprised of undergraduate and alumnae members. Today, more than 19,000 members have been initiated into Sigma Alpha Sorority. We’re growing steadily as others in agriculture learn about us.

Intercollegiate Equestrian Team

The Intercollegiate Equestrian Team is a group of college students who represent Tennessee Tech at competitions in equitation. The club is a member of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA). The IHSA provides collegiate riders of all skills the opportunity to compete individually and as teams in equestrian competition. It was founded on the principle that any college student should be able to participate in horse shows regardless of his or her riding ability or financial status. We meet on the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 11:00.

Landscape Horticulture Society

The Landscape Horticulture Society welcomes students in Horticulture and Nursery/Landscape Management as well as any other interested students. Students receive training to participate in regional and national horticulture contests, as well as the National Landscape contractor association student competition. Field trips to local and regional conservatories, botanical gardens and interior plantscaping sites are included. Students assist with various public functions and regional high school student competitions hosted by the School of Agriculture. We meet the 1st Tuesday of every month at 11:00.

Poultry Club

The Tennessee Tech Poultry club is comprised of students from diverse backgrounds who have a common interest in poultry. The club is filled with exciting events and strives to offer professional development to students. They get to learn about the poultry industry and share their knowledge and interest in poultry nutrition, physiology, safety, biosecurity and other aspects of poultry health and production. Guest speakers are invited to help students virtually navigate through the industry and improve their professional skills.

Some activities of the poultry club include Farm Days, poultry CDE, participation in spring and fall clinic, visits to nearby poultry farms, career fairs and attending the U.S. Poultry & Egg International Poultry Expo (Atlanta). Throughout the semester there are also small group events such as movie time and pizza parties organized to alleviate stress. 

Join us to explore the wonderful world of Poultry Science! We meet on the 4th Thursday of every month at 11:00. Meetings will be held in room 010 of Oakley Hall, we hope to see you there!

Pre-Vet Club

TN Tech Pre-Veterinary Medicine Club is one of the newer clubs at Tennessee Tech University's School of Agriculture. The Pre-Vet Club is a chance for students of all grades to come together and discuss everything from classes to the vet school application process. Members see first hand the application process through the seniors' experiences as well as the struggles of classes through other members. Advice flows freely between members. We meet on the second Thursday of every month.
