- not for credit internships (paid or unpaid),
- campus employment within a University Academic Scholarship service hours and Federal Work Study assignment,
- campus employment as a student worker within a department (non UAS or Federal work study associated position),
- practicums,

- residencies,
- clinicals,
- study and/or intern abroad, and
- certain service-learning activities (including Oakley STEM and Rural Reimagined)
Why participate in Experiential Learning? ›
Want to stand out after graduation? A 2025 NACE (National Association of Colleges
and Employers) article highlights several benefits of participating within experiential
learning during students' college career. Students who participate in experiential
learning—like internships, research, co-ops, and clinical experiences—gain more than
just experience. They’re more likely to land job offers, earn higher starting salaries,
and feel confident in their career paths.
These opportunities also help build valuable networks, connect with mentors, and make college feel more relevant and rewarding. Whether you're just starting your college journey or already on campus, getting involved in experiential learning can be a game-changer for your future.
