Collin Mura-Smith, Sculpture ExhibitionMarch 25-April 26 |
Collin Mura-Smith is half Japanese and half American truck driver. He is a sculptor
and museum professional. He received an MFA in sculpture from the San Francisco Art
Institute, and an MFA in computer animation from The School of Visual Arts in NYC.
He has shown his artwork in exhibitions in the US, Europe, the Caribbean, Iceland,
Mexico, Japan and South Korea. Collin’s
background also includes creating art for motion pictures, television and leading
branding agencies.

Richard Hawkins, clarinetApril 5 - 7:30 p.m. |
Richard Hawkins made his solo debut at the Kennedy Center with Mstislav Rostropovich and the National Symphony Orchestra in 1992. He has since given more than 50 performances of featured clarinet works with orchestra. Hawkins’ first teaching position, at the Interlochen Arts Academy, launched a new career direction in 1993: a dedication to educating the world’s finest young clarinetists. He has simultaneously led an active performing career and pursued his passion for instrument design. Hawkins will be joined by pianist James Howsmon.

Celebration of CraftApril 6 - beginning at 10 a.m. |
This free event is open to the university and public and it features a comprehensive
suite of arts offerings, including: live musical performances by three different ensembles
throughout the day, live art/craft demonstrations in all five of the craft studios
(glass, metals, wood, fibers, clay), hands-on craft activities for children of all
ages, food vendors, artwork sales by student
artists and discounts in our retail craft gallery.

Window on the WorldApril 6 - beginning at 10 a.m. |
WOW international festival was designed to expose students and future students to sights, sounds, and tastes of the world. Ethnic foods and crafts will be on sale, international music and dance performances and global cultural displays will be present. WOW is an experience appropriate for all ages.

Nani Agbeli, Drum and DanceApril 20 - 7:30 p.m. |
Nani Agbeli is renowned in the world of Ghanaian drum and dance as a superlative teacher and performer. He will be joined in performance by the TTU Ghanaian Drum & Dance Ensemble.
