TN eCampus
TN eCampus
TN eCampus is a partnership of higher education institutions across Tennessee, including Tennessee Tech University, created to provide students with more options for online learning. TN eCampus courses are fully online, although some courses may have proctored midterm and/or final exams. Multiple proctoring options are available for proctored exams, including the use of a virtual proctor, so students can take exams wherever they are.

How can I tell if a course is on eCampus or iLearn?
In addition to online courses through TN eCampus, Tennessee Tech offers a growing number of online courses via iLearn, the University’s learning management system. It’s easy to tell which courses are on iLearn and which ones are through TN eCampus by checking your schedule for a course’s section number. All TN eCampus section numbers begin with the letter R. If the section number does not begin with R, look for the course in iLearn.
Frequently Asked Questions
Course Access
- Why can't I see my TN eCampus course in iLearn?
TN eCampus courses have a different access point, so you will not see them in iLearn. Login to TN eCampus courses via the TN eCampus Brightspace D2L page. If you are new to TN eCampus, please see the username and password formats under Log In Information at the link. If you just registered for a TN eCampus course, remember that there is a 24-36 hour processing delay before access begins.
- How can I tell whether a course is on iLearn or through TN eCampus?
Look at the course’s section number. If the section number begins with an R, it is through TN eCampus. If it does not, go to iLearn.
- Where do I find my username and password for TN eCampus?
About a week before each term begins, TN eCampus sends each student a unique username and password to their student email address. You can login to your student email through Tech Express.
- What do I do if my TN eCampus username and password are not working?
NOTE: TN eCampus accounts for first time users are not activated until a few (approx. 3-7) days before classes begin, so if you are trying to log in sooner, please wait and try again a few days before classes begin.
If classes begin in a few days and your username and password are not working, first, try the “Forgot your password?” link on the TN eCampus course login page. The reset link will be emailed to your student email address within 15 minutes. If that is unsuccessful, you can contact the TN eCampus Student Liaison during business hours. Outside business hours, contact the TN eCampus Help Desk. The Tennessee Tech Help Desk is not able to resolve login issues on TN eCampus accounts.
Registration
- Do students need a permit to register for TN eCampus courses?
No, students do not need a permit for open TN eCampus courses unless they receive an error during registration, such as prerequisite not met.
- Who do I contact for a permit to register for a TN eCampus course?
If you have tried to register and received an error such as prerequisite not met, mutual exclusion, or classification restriction, email the TN eCampus Student Liaison to request a permit. You will receive a response once your request has been processed. Include the following information:
- Your name and T number
- The course you want to register for, including the CRN
- The error message you received when attempting to register
- Any details you have to support your permit request
- I’m trying to add a TN eCampus course using the Schedule Planner, but it is not working.
What should I do?
TN eCampus courses do not have a “scheduled” time, so they will not appear in the Schedule Planner. To add a TN eCampus course to your schedule, use the Add/Drop Classes option on the Registration tab in Eagle Online. For more assistance, contact the TN eCampus Student Liaison.
- Eagle Online says there are 99 seats in TN eCampus courses. Are there really up to
99 students in the classes?
No. The total enrollment in each TN eCampus course is divided into smaller sections before courses begin, and each individual section is assigned a different section number. For example, the first section of a full-term course will be Section R50, but the additional sections will be named R51, R52, and so on.
- Why is my instructor's name not provided in Eagle Online for my TN eCampus course?
Since TN eCampus is a partnership of many institutions, some of the instructors are provided by the partner institutions instead of Tech. In that case, the instructor's name is not listed in Eagle Online. Be assured, however, that if there is a TN eCampus course listed in Eagle Online, an instructor has been or will be assigned before the course begins.
- Where can I find my TN eCampus instructor's name?
Your instructor’s name will be provided on the homepage of your course and/or in the Getting Started module on the Instructor Information page. You will not be able to access this information until the day your course begins.
Resolving Issues
- What if I experience an issue in a TN eCampus course? Is there anyone at Tennessee
Tech who can help me?
Yes! Every institution in the TN eCampus partnership has a person designated as a liaison to support and assist TN eCampus students. Contact information for Tennessee Tech’s Student Liaison can be found below. Remember that questions about assignments and grades should be directed to your instructor, but if you need additional support, your Student Liaison is ready to help.
