Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA)

Tennessee Tech University, in accordance to the United States Department of Education, will be awarding $4.35 million to Tennessee Tech students impacted by COVID-19.

There will not be an application process. All funds will be automatically disbursed to eligible students. There will only be one disbursement to students deemed eligible at Tennessee Tech as of February 22, 2021.

• Student is verified as United States citizen or Permanent Resident
• Student was enrolled student at Tennessee Tech as of February 22, 2021
• Student is degree-seeking at Tennessee Tech
» Purpose of CRRSAA funds
CRRSAA funds are a grant from the Federal Government to cover costs incurred December 27, 2020 and after to ensure learning continues for students during the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Education related expenses included in your cost of attendance or for emergency costs that arise due to coronavirus, such as tuition, food, housing, health care (including mental health care) or child care.
- Funds may also be applied to an outstanding balance at Tennessee Tech.

CRRSAA: Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund II (HEERF II)
» Details on CRRSAA Funds to Tech Students

Once a student was determined eligible, the type of student (undergraduate/graduate), enrollment status (number of billing/credit hours) and Federal Pell Grant eligibility was used to determine distribution amounts.

Eligible students will be emailed (student campus email account will be used) notifying them that funds will be posted to their account.

Direct deposit will be used for students who are set up to allow Tennessee Tech to pay in that manner. Students should check that bank account for the deposit. If direct deposit is not set up, students will receive a check by mail.

Total CRRSAA funds to be disbursed: $4.35 million. The entirety of these funds will be disbursed automatically no later than March 10, 2021.

The range of funds distributed to 7,079 eligible full-time undergraduate and graduate students is $459 to $925.42.

The range of funds distributed to 1,582 eligible part-time undergraduate and graduate students is $160.26 to $459.

CRRSAA funds are not considered Federal financial aid (Title IV and HEA) and will not impact federal, state and institutional aid. This means that any CRRSAA funds received will not affect your current financial aid eligibility in any way.

» Department of Education Reporting Information for the Student Portion of the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplement Appropriations Act (CRRSAA)

Below are the U.S. Department of Education’s reporting guidelines for institutions that have received the CRRSAA student portion of their Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) allocation. Tennessee Tech’s responses to these guidelines are noted below each bullet point.

» An acknowledgement that the institution signed and returned the certification and agreement form and that the institution has used, or intends to use the funds to provide the mandated amount of emergency financial aid grants to students.

Tennessee Tech received all of the designated funding under the CRRSAA HEERF student portion totaling $4,356,732.

As of March 1, 2021, Tennessee Tech has distributed a total of $4,356,732 to eligible students.

All Tennessee Tech students who received emergency relief funds were emailed information on the amount and timing of the disbursement.

According to the U.S. Department of Education’s guidelines, Tennessee Tech ensured the responses and data noted above were updated as of May 24, 2020 and every 45 days thereafter. Since October 30, 2020, all information has been updated quarterly per the most recent guidelines.
