Gen Ed Vision Committee

General Education Vision Committee

The Tech Tomorrow strategic plan identifies the creation of “a [Tennessee] Tech-unique general education curriculum to provide the foundation for technologically adept, analytically capable, and career-ready graduates” as a priority action for the university.

Gen Ed Vision Committee Recommendations

Town Halls & Survey Gen Ed Resources

The General Education Vision Committee was the first committee involved in the process to review and revise the general education curriculum at Tennessee Tech.

The goals of this committee were to:

  • To develop a vision/philosophy for general education at Tech,
  • Identify potential pathways for operationalizing that vision, and
  • See what might be possible as we “dream big.”

This committee engaged numerous stakeholders through town halls and surveys in the 2023-2024 academic year.

The committee's recommendations have been presented to the provost and will be given to the upcoming General Education Implementation Committee.
