I specialize in early American literature, specifically early American and nineteenth
century fiction. My research interests include gender & sexuality studies and queer
theory. I teach classes on early American women's writing and material culture, feminist
theory, life writing, and embodiment.
My work appears in Legacy: A Journal of American Women Writers, Early American Literature, and J19: The Journal of Nineteenth-Century Americanists. It has been supported by fellowships from the Library Company of Philadelphia, The
Pennsylvania Historical Society, the Mellon Foundation, and the American Antiquarian
Society.

I moved to Tennessee in 2014 to attend Tennessee Tech University focusing on Criminal
Justice, and have lived in Cookeville ever since. Originally, I am from a small ski
town in northern New Hampshire located within Mount Washington Valley. In my spare
time you can find me working on my newest cross stitch, embroidery or crochet project!
Any other time I have is spent with Dean and Walter, my two pit bull fur-babies! We
are either playing frisbee or walking at Cane Creek Park.
I am very proud to be involved with Tennessee Tech's Women's Center, and to be actively
working towards achieving our mission of gender equity across campus and our community.
