Interfraternity Council (IFC)
The Interfraternity Council represents 10 values‑based fraternities at Tennessee Tech. Each chapter promotes its own values and traditions, while IFC as a whole focuses on brotherhood, scholarship, service, leadership development, and positive interfraternal relationships. Together, these organizations contribute to a strong and engaged campus community.
As you explore the sections below, you’ll find everything you need to know about joining an IFC fraternity, how recruitment works, and the chapters that make up our council.

IFC Recruitment
About Recruitment
IFC Recruitment takes place at the beginning of each semester and follows a mutual selection process. Potential members meet fraternity members, attend events, and explore fraternity chapter culture before receiving or accepting a bid.
What Recruitment Looks Like
Chapters host events such as:
- Meals with members
- Sports and outdoor activities
- Service projects
- Alumni meet‑and‑greets
- Chapter presentations
- Informal Q&A sessions
The formal recruitment process lasts one week and gives students the opportunity to explore Fraternity Life without committing to any chapter. At the end of the week, each fraternity extends bids, or offers of membership, to the men they wish to welcome into their organization.
