Nominations

Recipients of the awards below will be selected based only on nominations. Please consider nominating a student who should be recognized in these categories.

  • Unsung Heroes – Students not serving as their organization's president or chief officer are eligible for this award, which recognizes work "behind the scenes" to make organizations and programs better.
  • Changemaker Award - This award recognizes individual achievements in advocating for a cause, working toward community growth and improvement, and/or seeking to advance peace and human dignity.
  • Spirit of Tennessee Tech Award - This award recognizes students' overall contributions to the Tennessee Tech community and their embodiment of Tennessee Tech school spirit and values. Nominees will not be judged based on the positions they have held, but their impact on others and their positive influence on the University.

Other Student Leadership Awards, including Outstanding Student Organization Officers, Outstanding Graduate Student Leader, Rising Student Organization Leader, and Outstanding Student Organization President, do not require a nomination. However, many students may not be aware of this opportunity or recognize the value of their contributions. Please consider nominating a student to apply.

Nominate a Student Organization Advisor

Many Tennessee Tech employees serve voluntarily as Student Organization Advisors. Please consider nominating a Faculty/Staff Advisor who you feel should be recognized. Only students can submit the Student Organization Advisor of the Year nomination form. Please note that only volunteer Faculty/Staff Advisors are eligible. Employees who advise the organization as a part of their compensated duties and included in their job description are not eligible. Students are encouraged to ask the nominee about their volunteer status before submitting the nomination.
