Ph.D. Program

A graduate program leading to a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Engineering is offered by the College of Engineering, with several distinct concentrations. Currently, the departments of Chemical Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering offer concentrations in their respective fields. The general requirements for a Ph.D. in Engineering are the same for all departments. The Associate Dean of Engineering for Research and Innovation also serves as the Director of the program.

The Department of Computer Science offers advanced studies leading to a Ph.D. in Engineering with a concentration in Computer Science. Our Ph.D. program offers students the opportunity to do advanced studies and research in cutting-edge technologies. Current research is sponsored by agencies such as NSF, DOE, NIH, DHS, DOD, and state and private sources among others.
