Art Inspired by Archives

University Archives is announcing the first annual “Art Inspired by Archives” contest.  The 1st place winner will receive a $75 gift card and the second-place winner will receive a $25 gift card.  Winners will be selected by a committee composed of staff, faculty, and a student. This year’s art contest and future contests will focus on art created from archival collections at the university.  This year we are highlighting Cosmouse, Tennessee Tech’s space traveling mouse.  All artwork must be received by November 10th to be considered. Winners will be announced November 17th. Artwork will be accepted by anyone 18 and over.

Artwork will be evaluated on technique and composition, creativity and originality, and adherence to the competition theme.

Artists must deliver artwork to Tennessee Tech Archives (Volpe Library Room 140 temporarily) by November 10, 2023, no later than 4:30 pm. Should the artist accept, selected artworks will be displayed outside the administrative office in the Volpe Library until December 1st, 2023, at which point art will be returned to the artist.  All media formats will be accepted. To compete, all artist must complete a display license to be included in the exhibit.
