SGA Mission Statement

The mission of the Student Government Association (SGA) at Tennessee Technological University is to act as a channel for the expression of student opinion regarding the university, collaborate with administration to better student welfare, support student organizations, and foster community on campus.

SGA acts as a liaison between the university administration and students, strives to create a sense of community and campus involvement, provides a forum for the open expression of student opinions and ideas, and facilitates the creation of an atmosphere conducive to a high level of academic achievement.

SGA Senators represent student voices on campus in SGA meetings, University Committee meetings, and other university initiatives. SGA Senators...

  • Attend Bi-Weekly Senate Meetings at 7pm on Mondays
  • Attend Bi-Weekly Senate Committee Meetings
  • Attend University Committee Meetings
  • Work the SOLO Concerts (and often meet the performers!)
  • Help with other SGA events and initiatives
  • Advocate for student needs and ideas through communicating with University Administration

An ideal Senator enjoys speaking up for others, problem solving, and teamwork. This is a great opportunity for anyone who is looking to improve their leadership skills, make a difference on campus, and boost their resume.
