Sustainability - Sustainable Projects: Green Space

Green Space

We have several outdoor spaces on campus where students can enjoy relaxation and recreation. Studies have linked outside time with many great benefits, such as improved mental clarity, increased productivity, mental health benefits, and enhanced creativity. Click below for more information about different outdoor campus spaces.

  • Centennial Plaza

Located beside Derryberry and Roaden University Center. This outdoor area, often used for events, is an open space with swings, adirondack chairs, and tables; making it perfect for relaxing, studying or hanging out with friends.

  • Walton Park

Walton Park, also known as the president's lawn, is located in front of the Bryan Fine Arts building across N. Dixie.  It is a large open space, perfect for recreation, and has a walking perimeter surrounded with beautiful trees such as the October Glory that are simply stunning in the fall.

  • The Quad

The Quad is a classic campus outdoor space, with many trees beautifully spaced out and a walking perimeter. The Quad is often used for events, study sessions, outdoor class sessions, and so much more. You can often find students enjoying outdoor time on blankets when the weather is nice.

  • Intramural Fields

The intramural fields are located across Willow near Tech Village. The intramural fields have everything you need for recreation. You can find baseball fields, sand volleyball courts, and plenty of field space for other recreational activities such as soccer or ultimate frisbee!
