Here are a few highlights from recent editions of The Alumnus:
To celebrate the 100th anniversary of The Eagle yearbook, the Crawford Alumni Center hosted a “Yearbooks of Yesteryear” series on Facebook and Instagram, challenging alumni to identify the yearbook where memorable photos first appeared. This photo may look familiar, but few alumni know that it was staged for a Varsity Cinema advertisement in the 1970 edition of The Eagle. The Varsity Cinema opened on Sept. 11, 1969, and today serves as home of the Crawford Alumni Center.

In celebration of National Nurses Week, the Crawford Alumni Center honored nursing alumni by sending Tennessee Tech badge reels and highlighting the important contributions nurses make in healthcare communities across the country. Tech badge reels are still available! We appreciate all who serve on the front lines – first responders and healthcare providers of every kind – so we invite anyone who could use a badge reel to contact us at alumni@tntech.edu.

Tennessee Tech recently celebrated the 50th anniversary of its accredited didactic program in dietetics, recognizing five decades of preparing nutrition professionals and expanding opportunities for students pursuing careers in health and clinical nutrition. Faculty, students and alumni gathered to celebrate the milestone and reflect on the program’s evolution from its roots in the university’s early years to the nationally accredited program it is today.
