Sociology and Political Science

Make a Gift to the Department of Sociology and Political Science

The Department of Sociology and Political Science offers five concentrations: Sociology General Track; Sociology-Criminology/Criminal Justice; Sociology-Social Work; Political Science General Track; and, Political Science-Legal Studies. Additionally, we are delighted to house an interdisciplinary minor: “Cyber Crime, Law and Society” in partnership with the College of Engineering and funded by a National Science Foundation (NSF) grant. Our graduates select from a variety of employment opportunities including local, state and federal law enforcement and government sector jobs as well as child and adult protective services. Moreover, many of our students pursue graduate study; indeed, the majority of Tech students who attend law school are our alumni.

A TTU undergraduate education in Sociology and Political Science balances rigorous coursework, critical thinking, methodological inquiry and internship opportunities. Please consider supporting our majors with a financial gift. Donations are used for scholarships, student conference or competition travel and programs that enhance the political science and sociological student experience.

Thank you,
Dr. Lori Maxwell
