STEM AT HOME

STEM AT HOME is an initiative to provide parents/guardians with STEM activities that can help engaging K-8th students during the current school closures.
Activity documents are separated by themes and can be downloaded at the button below. Simply click on any of the themes and you will have access to the STEM activities for the theme selected.

  • Fab Fridays

    STEM Fab Friday events are focused on getting families and their children engaged in STEM activities. There are two regularly scheduled events each semester held on Fridays from 5-8 pm.

     

    STEM-Mendous Minions: Unleashing Scientific Mischief - Fab Friday (3rd-8th)

    April 12, 2024 from 5:00 pm-8:00 pm

    Get ready for a STEM-mendous adventure at "STEM-mendous Minions: Unleashing Scientific Mischief!" Kids will step into the world of mischievous Minions as they dive into hands-on experiments and engineering challenges that ignite their scientific curiosity and creativity. Join us for a day of laughter, learning, and scientific discovery, where young minds will embrace the joy of STEM while unleashing their own mischievous scientific potential.

    We look forward to having families enjoy time together while exploring new STEM concepts through hands-on activities.

    This event is FREE and open to the public!

    Registration is highly encouraged for planning purposes, but it is not required. 
    Tennessee Tech cares deeply about the safety and welfare of children while on its campus. As the event organizer or parent (as applicable), you are solely responsible for the supervision, oversight and protection of the participant(s) while on Tennessee Tech property.

  • Safari Saturdays

    Safari Saturdays are free, Saturday workshops in hands-on science and math for young learners and their families. These interactive programs are age-appropriate for PreK-3rd graders and encourage family participation. A parent/guardian must remain with the student/students regardless of age. Safari Saturdays are flexible events, come and go as your family’s schedule allows. Reservations are required; admission is free.

  • Special Events

    Winter Solstice-The Shortest Day of the Year | TBA | 6pm-8pm | FREE

    Solstice events are free workshops in hands-on science and math for young learners (PreK-8th graders) and their families that occur twice a year to celebrate the summer and the winter solstice. 

    Join us for the Shortest Day of the Year Celebration! Enjoy this year's winter solstice while star gazing with telescopes, entering the VR world of Star Wars, and participating on some fun hands-on STEM activities.

    A parent/guardian must remain with the student/students regardless of age.
