Test Information and Registration

Tennessee Tech is located in the central time zone. 

Per the university's parking regulations, all campus visitors, including test takers, will need to follow parking regulations. For more information on parking, please contact either the Testing Center of the university's Parking Office.

Available Exams

  • Praxis Exams

    Praxis exams are offered multiple times during each two-week testing window.

    Register for a Praxis Exam

    All Praxis candidates MUST have a parking pass if parking on campus.

    If you are not a current Tennessee Tech student, please contact either our Testing Center or the university's Parking Office at least 2 business days prior to your test date to secure a tag and parking information in advance.

    Please make sure to review Check-in and Test Day Information to make certain to select the best time and date. If you arrive later than your scheduled test time, you will not be allowed to test.

  • College Level Examination Prep (CLEP)

    CLEP tests are scheduled once a month. Additional or alternate testing dates/ times may be requested by contacting the College of Education Testing center at testingcenter@tntech.edu

    In order to test, you must first purchase a CLEP ticket through College Board.

    *Eligible military DANTES Funded test takers should choose the DANTES Funded date option from the drop down menu. The form will allow you to choose from one of the existing dates in a later step.

  • Counselor Preparation Comprehensive Exams (CPCE)

    The CPCE is offered toward the end of each semester for graduate students in Counseling & Psychology.

    There are two (2) administrations. Students are encouraged to register for the first administration as a passing score is required in order to graduate.

    Coordinate with the Department of Counseling and Psychology for an exam date and begin the registration process. Call 931-372­–3457 or email edcp@tntech.edu .

    Register at least 7 days in advance; you will receive an email with your Candidate ID within a week.

  • Miller Analogies Test (MAT)

    Important Information about the MAT per Pearson:

    The final Miller Analogies Test® (MAT) testing cycle will be offered until November 15, 2023.  No MAT testing dates, MAT Practice Tests, and Study Guides will be offered after November 15, 2023.  All test-takers may continue to request Official Transcripts and Personal Score Reports through the Pearson website until November 2025.

  • Graduate Record Examination (GRE)

    The GRE is generally offered once a month at 10am CST.

    All GRE candidates MUST have a parking pass if parking on campus.

    If you are not a current Tennessee Tech student, please contact either our Testing Center or the university's Parking office to secure a tag and parking information in advance. 

    Please make sure to review the Check-in and Test Day Information to make sure you bring all required information. If you arrive later than your scheduled test time, you will not be allowed to test. 

  • Senior Exit Exam

    Senior Exit Exam is offered each semester in person as well as online.

    If you are wanting to take it online, you do not need to register.
