Instructors: Responsibilities
As an instructor, you have four main academic integrity responsibilities:
-
Foster integrity in your classes. Review Instructor Tips & Resources for ideas on how to incorporate academic integrity into your classroom culture, syllabus, and assessments.
-
Clearly communicate to your students what they are allowed and not allowed to use when completing course assignments and tests. View this syllabus chart to see one option for presenting this information.
-
Understand and follow Policy 216: Student Academic Integrity. You cannot penalize students for an academic integrity violation outside of Policy 216.
-
Address violations when they occur. Please see the detailed Instructor Procedures & Deadlines to understand how to address violations.
