Tennessee Tech’s Center for Counseling and Mental Health Wellness

Offers confidential and free short-term, solution focused therapeutic interventions for Tech students. The staff of the Center for Counseling and Mental Health Wellness is available to assist students with their personal and social concerns in hopes of helping them achieve satisfying educational and life experiences.

988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is a national network of local crisis centers that provides free and confidential emotional support to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress. The Lifeline provides 24/7, free and confidential support for people in distress, prevention and crisis resources for you or your loved ones, and best practices for professionals in the United States. Tennessee Tech's SGA (Student Government Association) Mental Health Matters

The Student Government Association recognizes the importance of addressing the mental health of Tennessee Tech students. In 2020 and beyond, students face the added pressures of a global pandemic, racial tensions, and civil unrest. The Mental Health Matters initiative seeks to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health by openly engaging in dialogue about the topic and encouraging students to take advantage of the many free resources available on the site linked below (see "More Information").

Health Services provides acute, urgent care, preventive care, immunizations, and allergy shots for full-time and part-time registered students and faculty/staff at Tennessee Tech. Most services are free to Tech students. Note: Services are not available to families of students or to families of faculty/staff.

Cookeville Pregnancy Clinic is a community resource and medical clinic that offers free, confidential pregnancy services. Some of the services provided are pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, peer counseling, and practical assistance.

Genesis House is a community resource that promotes the general welfare of victims of domestic and sexual violence by providing shelter, goods, and services. Additional services offered are a 24-hour hotline, hospital accompaniment, professional individual counseling, transitional housing, and more.

Heart of the Cumberland

Heart of the Cumberland is a grief and loss center providing peer support groups and practical assistance to promote hope and healing. The peer support groups are designed to address issues of “grief” and other “loss” (such as divorce, foster care placement, living with grandparents, abuse, deportation, deployment, incarceration, etc.).

Upper Cumberland Family Justice Center

The Upper Cumberland Family Justice Center offers services and assistance to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and family violence. Services include counseling, access to emergency shelter, housing assistance, and more.

United Ways of Tennessee

Search for community resources and support through United Ways of Tennessee, part of the United Way Worldwide organization. You can also simply dial "2-1-1" for Tennessee's community services helpline. A trained member can help sort out needs and provide phone numbers and addresses to places closest to help.
