Employment Opportunity -- Lecturer

The TTU Department of Mathematics invites applications for an anticipated full-time lecturer position in Mathematics to begin August 2024. A full-time lecturer position is considered a 9-month position, but summer teaching opportunities are available. The successful candidate will be hired on a non-tenure track, 3-year renewal contract based on satisfactory performance review and the needs of the department with the opportunity to advance in rank to senior lecturer and master lecturer. Duties include teaching 13 to 15 semester credit hours of mathematics courses per semester, consisting of contact hours in the classroom or online and other delivery methods, and additional service associated with student success.

Required Qualifications:  

·         A graduate degree earned by August 2024 in mathematics, mathematics education, or statistics with at least 18 graduate credit hours in mathematics.

·         Have been the instructor of record for at least 6 semester credit hours in undergraduate mathematics, or equivalent teaching experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

·         Demonstrated effectiveness in instruction of standard lower-division mathematics courses.

·         Experience teaching a variety of undergraduate mathematics content.

·         Experience teaching learning support sections of undergraduate math courses.

·         Experience teaching large classes.

·         Experience teaching Emporium-style courses.

·         Experience using different teaching methods.

·         Effective communication skills.
