University Housing & Residential Life

• Housing is guaranteed if you apply by May 1, 2026 and select a room during the assigned timeslot in April.
• $200 prepayment is due at time of application.
• On Wednesday, April 8, 2026 an email will be sent to students Tennessee Tech email with timeslots for room selection.  You must have completed your application and paid your prepayment to receive this email.
• Roommate portal on the hall application closes Sunday, April 5, 2026 at Noon (CST).
• Room selection begins Wednesday, April 15, 2026, depending on the timeslot for the student.
• Assignment emails will be sent out by Wednesday, May 13, 2026.

📌Applications are for the Academic School year.  This includes both fall and spring semesters.

• Once you submit your application, you will be placed on a housing waiting list (housing is not guaranteed) until we determine how many beds we will have available for the Fall semester.
• We anticipate that we will know the number of available spaces by Monday, March 2, 2026. An email will be sent to Students Tennessee Tech email notifying them of their status at that time (receiving your timeslot or remaining on the wait list).
• Unfortunately, due to limited spaces, we cannot accommodate a roommate choice.
• For those who receive timeslots, you will be notified of your time slot on Monday, April 27, 2026.
• For those that received a timeslot, room selection will begin Wednesday, April 29, 2026, depending on the timeslot for the student.
• Once a room is selected, you will be required to pay your $200 prepayment to keep your selection.  ONCE YOU HAVE PAID YOUR DEPOSIT YOU ARE LOCKED INTO YOUR CONTRACT.  YOU CAN NO LONGER OPT OUT.
• For those who do not choose a room and/or complete their prepayment, they will forfeit their housing choice.
• There will be a limited time to select a room and make your prepayment.
• Assignment emails will be sent out by Wednesday, May 13, 2026 to students Tennessee Tech email.

• Room/apartment selection will depend on the number of beds released to students not required to live on campus.  Housing is not guaranteed.
• Applications open Monday, February 2, 2026 for Residential Halls.   A returning resident can complete an application for both Residential Hall and Tech Village.

Hall Applications:

1. We will send an email to students Tennessee Tech Email notifying them of their status (if they received a timeslot or will remain on the waiting list) on Wednesday, March 4, 2026.
2. Roommate portal closes at Noon (CST) on Sunday, March 1, 2026.
3. For those with timeslots, room selection will begin Wednesday, March 11, 2026, depending on the timeslot for the student.
4. Once a room is selected, you will be required to pay your $200 prepayment to keep your selection.  ONCE YOU HAVE PAID YOUR DEPOSIT YOU ARE LOCKED INTO YOUR CONTRACT.  YOU CAN NO LONGER OPT OUT.
5. For those who do not choose a room and/or complete their prepayment, they will forfeit their housing choice.
6. There will be a limited time to select a room and make your prepayment.
7. Assignment emails will be sent out to students Tennessee Tech Email by Friday, May 13, 2026.

*Please Note:  If you're living on campus during the Fall 2026 semester, there's no need to reapply for Spring 2027 housing. Your current housing assignment and details will automatically roll over into the spring semester

1. Those in Tech Village already living there will have a limited priority period over those who are applying from the halls.
2. If student is offered a Tech Village Apartment, once they have applied,  student will receive an email from the Assignment Specialist.
3. If you accept the offer, you will be required to pay your $200 prepayment to keep your selection.  ONCE YOU HAVE PAID YOUR DEPOSIT YOU ARE LOCKED INTO YOUR CONTRACT.   YOU CAN NO LONGER OPT OUT.
4. Those who do not pay the prepayment will forfeit housing at Tennessee Tech Apartments.
5. There will be a limited time to make prepayment.
6. Assignment emails will be sent as needed to students Tennessee Tech email.

*Please Note: Students living in a Tech Village apartment who are not returning for Spring 2027 will need to be out of the apartment by December 15, 2026. The remaining days of December will be credited to you.

Students who need housing between the end of the Fall semester and the start of the Spring semester can apply for Interim Housing through a separate application. The Fall to Spring Interim Housing application is typically posted around November 1st each year.  Rates and additional information are included within the application. 

📌Please Note:

• Eligible Halls: To be considered for Interim Housing, you must be assigned to one of the following residence halls for the Fall semester:
  (These are the only halls that remain open during the break)
  • M.S. Cooper/Pinkerton
  • New Hall North
  • New Hall South
• Approval Required: All residents must submit a request and be approved to stay during Winter Break.
• Additional Fees: Extra charges apply for Interim Housing during this period.

Fall to Spring Interim Application

Students who need housing between the end of the Spring semester and the start of the Summer First or Full Terms can apply for Interim Housing through a separate application.  The Spring to Summer Interim Housing application is typically posted in mid-April each year.  Rates and additional information are included within the application.

Students who need housing between the end of the Summer term and the start of the Fall semester can apply for Interim Housing through a separate application.  The Summer to Fall Interim Housing application is typically posted in mid-July each year.  Rates and additional information are included within the application.

Once you’ve set up your TechExpress account, you'll be able to quickly and easily access the housing application by adding it to your QuickLinks bar! Unlock your QuickLinks bar by clicking the gear icon in the upper right hand corner, and then simply drag the green Housing icon onto your QuickLinks bar. Click the lock icon to confirm, and you’re done! The housing portal will now be quickly and easily available whenever you need it.
