Bring Your Own Device
Students are engaged in many curricular and field-based activities requiring constant access and integration of technology.
- All students are required to have an entry-level (primary) portable computing device (laptop).
 - Secondary computing devices like tablets can be used, however they are not considered primary computing devices.
 
Laptop Specification Minimums
Minimal specifications may experience limited functionality with some applications.
Apple Mac Devices (2019 or newer)
- Processor: Intel Core i-Series or Apple Silicon (M1 or newer recommended)
 - Operating System: macOS 14 Sonoma or higher (macOS 26 Tahoe recommended)
 - Screen Size: 13 inches or larger
 - Memory (RAM): 8GB minimum (16GB recommended for intensive tasks)
 - Storage: 512GB SSD or higher
 - Peripherals: Built-in or external webcam and microphone
 
⚠️ Note
- Some legacy applications may not run natively on Apple Silicon. Check with your department for specific software compatibility.
 
Windows Devices (2019 or newer)
- Processor: Intel Core i-Series (8th Gen or newer) or AMD Ryzen equivalent OR ARM-based (e.g., Snapdragon X Elite) with caution
 - Operating System: Windows 11
 - Screen Size: 13 inches or larger
 - Memory (RAM): 8GB minimum (16GB recommended)
 - Storage: 512GB SSD or higher
 - Peripherals: Built-in or external webcam and microphone
