Explorations in Engineering & Computing Camp

June 15-18, 2025 or June 29-July 2, 2025

Tennessee Tech’s College of Engineering will be offering 3-day residential summer camps for rising 10th, 11th, and 12th-grade students to learn about engineering, computing, and engineering technology. Tennessee Tech University is the state's only four-year technological university. During this camp, students will get to experience and engage in hands-on projects related to the top engineering and computing fields, taught by our engaging faculty members. Students will work directly with industry leaders and tour and experiment in state-of-the-art laboratories. During this program, students will be mentored by current Tennessee Tech students and learn what it means to be an engineering student. Students may choose to attend the camp either June 15-18 or June 29-July 2 (students may not attend both camps).

By the end of this camp, students will have gained in-depth knowledge about the seven engineering and computing programs at Tennessee Tech: chemical engineering, civil and environmental engineering, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing and engineering technology, and mechanical engineering. All rising 12th grade students will have the opportunity to be awarded a College of Engineering scholarship.

Students from underrepresented ethnic and cultural groups and those that will be first-generation college students are strongly encouraged to apply.

  • Our Mission

To provide students who show an interest in engineering studies an early exposure to and preparation for scientific study and research. We provide activities that will spark an interest in the world of engineering and computing and allow students to explore career opportunities. Throughout the program, participants will be challenged to apply what they have learned in engineering and computing activities.

  • What to Expect

Campers will spend three nights in a Tennessee Tech dormitory, experiencing a college-like schedule as they navigate through engineering and computing sessions. During sessions, campers will engage in hands on interactive experiments. In addition to experiments, we want to immerse our campers in cultural experiences by including college-readiness activities and by spending evenings doing fun activities such as movie night, ice cream parties, and game nights at the new Marc L. Burnett Campus Recreation Center. At the end of the camp, we hope your camper takes home with them a passion for innovation and a lifetime of great memories.
