    Getting ready to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) from Tennessee Tech? Make sure you take these required tests.

    When are you required to take the exams?

    How many tests do I have to take?

    Every senior in the College of Business must take TWO standardized tests to complete the requirements for graduation:

    • The ETS Business Major Field Test
    • The California Critical Thinking Skills Test (CCTST)

    Why do I have to take these tests?

    • The State of Tennessee requires students attending state-supported colleges and universities to complete these general education assessments as a requirement
    • Failure to take these tests will result in having your diploma held until this condition is met

    What are these tests like?

    ETS Business Major Field Test ›
    • Is designed to be a 2-hour test that is administered ONLINE
    • Has 120 multiple-choice questions
    • Has questions about Accounting, Economics, Management, Quantitative Business Analysis, Information Systems, Finance, Marketing, the Legal Environment, and International Issues
    • Mathematical operations do not require the use of a calculator
    • To do your best, you should plan to spend the allotted time on the test

    California Critical Thinking Skills Test (CCTST) ›
    • Is designed to be a 45-50 minutes test that is administered ONLINE

    • To do your best, you should plan to spend the allotted time on the test

    Why should I do my best on these tests?

    • It is important to you because employers and graduate programs value business knowledge and the ability to think critically and solve problems.
    • Your college degree is worth as much as the university that grants it. By doing your best on these tests, you help raise Tennessee Tech’s institutional score. The better Tennessee Tech’s College of Business looks, the better you look.
    • Your results help the College of Business maintain its AACSB accreditation. The College of Business uses your test results to find ways to improve the business curriculum and programs.
    • Tennessee Tech benefits from your success. The Tennessee Higher Education Commission awards funding based in part on institutional scores from tests like these.

  • Eagle's Flight

    Eagle's FlightEagle’s Flight is a program designed to enable undergraduate students to transition from lower division general education coursework into foundational business courses as a ‘learning community’ of students.  As a learning community you will attend at least two classes together and will have additional opportunities for learning support including study skills workshops, career planning sessions, tutoring and study sessions, and other skill building sessions.

  • Bloomberg Terminals

    BMC is recognized world-wide, and will signal to prospective employers that you have attained a high level of competency in using the Bloomberg Professional Service as well as optimize job performance. The BMC course consists of 4 modules: Economics, Currencies, Fixed Income, and Equities. You can complete the BMC at no cost at the Tennessee Tech Bloomberg Room.
