Parking Regulations
Overview of Parking Rules and Regulations
All vehicles parked on campus are subject to the parking rules and regulations. Failure to follow these rules and regulations may result in the vehicle being towed at the owner’s expense.
All vehicles on campus must be parked legally at all times. At no time are motor vehicles to be parked where curbs, sidewalks, or crosswalks are marked by yellow painting or striping. Vehicles are to be parked completely within a legal parking space and are not to protrude into another parking space. Vehicles are not permitted to park on grass.
All vehicles parked on campus shall be registered to Parking & Transportation Services. Registration is required to operate a motor vehicle on campus. Vehicle registration is completed at the time of purchase of a parking permit or at the time of issuing a temporary parking pass and will include but is not limited to license plate number and state of issuance and make, model, and color of vehicle.
Motorcycles/mopeds must display a current, valid parking permit and may park in designated motorcycle parking or may park in a zone corresponding to the parking permit color.
University parking lots are divided into gold, red, green, teal, and purple zones that correspond to colored parking decals (hang tags and stickers).
Gold and red zones are premium, inner campus parking. Green and teal zones are residential parking areas, reserved for students who reside in dorms or in Tech Village. Purple zones are outer campus parking.
Permits are required to park on campus between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Permits are not required on the weekends (4:30 p.m. Friday afternoons until 7:30 a.m. Monday mornings).
Parking areas are marked by color-coded signs that match the color-coded permits, indicating areas in which the particular vehicle may be parked during the times in which zone parking is enforced, from 7:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Green and teal (residential) zones are enforced 24/7; only vehicles bearing green and teal permits are allowed to park in green or teal zones at any time. Vehicles parked in areas other than allowed by the parking permit during enforced zone parking times will be cited for parking in an unassigned area.
Parking privileges are as follows when zone parking is enforced: vehicles displaying gold permits may park in gold, red, and purple zones; vehicles displaying red permits may park in red and purple zones; vehicles displaying green permits may park in green, red, or purple zones; vehicles displaying teal permits may park in teal and purple zones; and vehicles displaying purple permits may park only in the purple zones.
VISITOR parking spaces are reserved for persons visiting the campus; therefore, vehicles bearing University permits or operated by FACULTY, STAFF and STUDENTS of the University are not permitted in these spaces between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
All visitors must obtain a temporary visitor parking permit from Parking & Transportation
Services in the Roaden University Center.
