Chitiyo, professor of educational research and evaluation in the Tennessee Tech University's College of Education and Human Sciences, speaks at the inaugural Global Conference on Chess in Society and Education, held Jan. 14-16, 2026 in Bhubaneswar, India.

College of Education & Human Sciences’ Alum Named 
Tennessee Supervisor of the Year

Diana Wood, Putnam County’s PreK–4 Instructional Supervisor, named the 2025–2026 Tennessee Supervisor of the Year by the Tennessee Department of Education.

Wood is an alumna of Tech’s College of Education & Human Sciences receiving an Instructional Leadership M.A. in 2010 and a bachelor’s in elementary education in 1993.

May 2023: Ghana, West Africa

Students and faculty embarked on a study abroad program to Ghana, West Africa.

Led by Department of Curriculum and Instruction faculty members - Cale Koester, a senior lecturer and Associate Professor Queen Ogbomo, students were immersed in myriad opportunities for service learning and cultural studies.
